We are looking for a dedicated teacher and Christ follower to be the Lower School World Language and Culture Teacher to inspire young learners in preK through fourth grade to develop a love for languages and an appreciation for diverse cultures, all taught through the lens of a biblical worldview. This position requires a teacher who is committed to integrating faith into the classroom, creating engaging lessons that nurture students’ spiritual, linguistic, and cultural growth. This position is for the 2025-26 school year.
General Responsibilities
- Teach foundational world language skills (e.g., vocabulary, basic phrases, and conversational skills) to students in preK through fourth grade
- Incorporate cultural lessons that expose students to the language, customs, traditions, geography, and history of various countries, emphasizing how different cultures reflect God’s creativity, sovereignty and glory
- Develop age-appropriate, hands-on activities to reinforce language acquisition and cultural understanding
- Provide instruction from a biblical worldview, aligning teaching practices with the school’s mission
- Encourage students to develop empathy, respect, and a missionary mindset toward people of different backgrounds
- Demonstrate the fruits of the spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) in daily work, and interactions with colleagues and others
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, World Languages, or a related field (required)
- Proficiency in at least one world language (e.g., Spanish, French, Mandarin, etc.)
- Teaching certification or license (preferred)
- Experience working with young children
- Have a willing heart for service (Ephesians 6:7)
- Agree with and support TCA’s Doctrinal, Biblical and Mission statements and Christian values
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
- Normal physical demands of teaching (including, but not limited to standing, reaching, stooping, squatting down, kneeling, and occasional lifting)
- Must be able to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials and input information into computer
- Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues, students and parents, answering questions in a professional and friendly manner
- Willing to partner with parents to provide an exceptional education academically, spiritually and socially; committed to educate and develop the whole person for the glory of God
