Trinity Christian Academy is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable employee to join our education community who meets the following criteria:

  • Is a born-again Christian with spiritual maturity in academic and leadership abilities that will enable them to teach God’s truth and be active in their local Christian church whose beliefs are in alignment with TCA’s Mission Statement and growing in their personal walk with Christ
  • Exhibits the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum, serving as a Christian role model (1 Timothy 4:12) both in and out of school (Luke 6:40)
  • Has a passion for their areas of specialty, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
  • Welcomes the opportunity to disciple and mentor students, helping develop godly character in their lives

Qualifications

TCA is looking for an Athletic Director to join our dynamic and Christ-centered Athletic program. The Athletic Director’s primary role is to advance TCA’s Mission, Vision and Philosophy by leading and overseeing a competitive athletic program. At TCA you will not only help student athletes improve their athletic ability, you will remind them of the importance of academics, instill a Christian work ethic (Col. 3:23) and help strengthen their faith in Christ.

General Responsibilities

  • Advance TCA’s Mission, Vision and Philosophy by leading a competitive athletic program
  • Provide spiritual leadership to all athletic department staff by modeling a life committed to Christ consistent with TCA’s Statement of Faith and other covenants
  • Meet with Program Head Coaches, full-time and seasonal employees on a scheduled, recurring basis and document meetings and performance goals using Leadr people development software
  • Partner with TCA’s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to develop and enforce athletic department policies and procedures
  • Assist CAO with budget matters and special projects as requested
  • Ensure compliance with TCA and TAPPS policies and procedures
  • In conjunction with the CAO and the Director of Human Resources, provide in-service training for all coaches
  • Partner with CAO to manage issues escalated by parents, administration, students, opponents and guests
  • Assist coaches with individual program development - review and provide guidance on program meeting presentations, communication and correspondence
  • Serve as AOD and/or ensure AOD compliance at all required events
  • Attend kickoff meetings/dinners 
  • Oversee facilities and equipment maintenance 
  • Assist CAO with parent surveys to assess program effectiveness
  • Partner with TCA’s Sports Information & Media Manager on score reporting and press releases
  • Assist with calendar coordination and logistics as needed
  • Network with college and university athletic programs that are strong matches for TCA athletes
  • Work with TCA  athletes in pursing athletic scholarships
  • Represent TCA at TAPPS meetings
  • Partner with CAO in hiring and onboarding new coaches and department personnel
  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate coaches and department personnel
  • Oversee booster club and alumni relations activities
  • Oversee TCA’s strength and conditioning program
  • Coordinate with TCA’s Director of Auxiliary programs and other internal department leaders
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Previous experience in athletic operations or as an Assistant Athletic Director or Athletic Director strongly desired
  • Broad knowledge of both boys and girls sports programs
  • Experience overseeing US and MS sports programs
  • Demonstrated success in motivating coaches and student athletes
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal; able to effectively communicate with large and small groups of students, vendors, colleagues and parents
  • Strong critical thinking skills, ability to problem solve, quick learner and intentional relationship builder
  • Self-starter with a high level of initiative
  • Must be highly detailed, organized and structured in approach to executing duties
  • Knowledge of TAPPS policies governing athletics
  • High level of integrity, diplomacy and initiative
  • High regard for confidentiality
  • Fully in line with TCA's Christian values and Biblical Statements and Policies
  • Have a willing heart for service (Ephesians 6:7)

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements

  • Normal physical demands of working in an athletic environment (including, but not limited to standing, reaching, stooping, squatting down, kneeling, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds)
  • Must be able to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials and input information into computer.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues, students and parents, answering questions in a professional and friendly manner
  • Willing to partner with parents to provide an exceptional athletic experience committed to educate and develop the whole person for the glory of God
  • Able to see and hear in the normal range with or without correction  
  • Prolonged and irregular hours, some travel
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
