We are looking for a dedicated coach and Christ follower to be our Middle School Pom Coach. TCA’s Athletic Department utilizes sports and competition to teach transformational, life-giving biblical truths to each student-athlete. As a coach at TCA you will not only help student athletes improve their athletic ability, you will remind them of the importance of academics, instill a Christian work ethic (Col. 3:23) and help strengthen their faith in Christ.
Qualifications
- A strong commitment to the positive development of the Pom program at TCA
- Ability to instill teamwork and community within a group of girls pointing them to Christ
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with middle school girls in Pom team
- Ability to build a good rapport with students and parents
- Agree with and support TCA’s Doctrinal, Biblical and Mission statements and Christian values
General Responsibilities
- Attend dance team practices during the Fall and Winter seasons
- Planning and organize practices
- Plan warm-up, conditioning drills for practice
- Choreograph and teaching various routines
- Choose and approving music for routines
- Attend all dance team performances
- Plan and lead a weekly devotional for your team.
- Attend all Middle School home football games
- Teach and develop dance technique
- Fit and order all dance team uniforms and team wear for MS.
- Plan and execute tryouts and parent meetings
- Organize and coordinate summer line camp
- Manage miscellaneous items and tasks that will come up
- Organize and present parent meetings
- Communicate with parents on a weekly basis (scheduling, updates etc.)
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
- Regularly works inside but some outdoor time might be required
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and pull items
- Ability to demonstrate dance moves and drills
- Early mornings and late nights required
