Trinity Christian Academy is looking for dependable and knowledgeable Senior Accountant to join our Business Department. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and financial statements. The Senior Accountant maintains the departmental expense and budget and provides ad hoc reports and financial analysis. This position works closely with other Business Office personnel as well as other departments to gather necessary data for the general ledger. This position reports to the Controller.
General Responsibilities
- Perform month-end financial close; record all journal entries; perform all balance sheet reconciliations generate financial statements
- Maintain fixed assets subledger, calculate depreciation, and perform analysis on disposals
- Provide monthly year-to-date actual versus budget expense data to the Controller, CFO and department heads
- Provide financial analysis, as needed
- Coordinate key pieces of the annual external audit; prepare financial schedules for external auditors
- Responsible for day-to-day cash management (monitoring cash position)
- Prepare monthly sales tax calculation and facilitate payment
- Maintain transaction data between TCA Foundation and Trojan Real Properties
- Coordinate and perform monthly review of corporate credit card purchasing activity
- Serve as backup to payroll accountant and accounts payable accountant, as needed
- Perform special projects for Controller or CFO, as needed
- Demonstrate the fruits of the spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) in daily work, and interactions with colleagues and others
Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Degree in accounting is strongly preferred
- Certified Public Accountant certification is a plus
- Month-end close and general ledger experience is required
- Organized and strong attention to detail
- Effective time management and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- QuickBooks system experience is a plus
- Blackbaud system experience is a plus
- Fully in line with TCA's Christian values and Biblical Statements and Policies

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials and input information into computer
- Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues and parents, answering questions in a professional and friendly manner
- Able to see and hear in the normal range with or without correction
