Trinity Christian Academy is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable employee to join our education community who meets the following criteria:

  • Has a desire to work in a private, independent, conservative, evangelical Christian college preparatory school
  • Understands, supports and carries out the mission, philosophy and core values of TCA and be committed to instilling these Biblical truths in the lives of our students
  • Is a born-again Christian with spiritual maturity in academic and leadership abilities that will enable them to teach God’s truth and be active in their local Christian church whose beliefs are in alignment with TCA’s Mission Statement and growing in their personal walk with Christ
  • Exhibits the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum, serving as a Christian role model (1 Timothy 4:12) both in and out of school (Luke 6:40)
  • Has a passion for their areas of specialty, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
  • Welcomes the opportunity to disciple and mentor students, helping develop godly character in their lives

 

Qualifications

As an Upper School Physics Teacher you will teach students to explore and use qualitative and quantitative analysis, with a balance of studying conceptual knowledge and mathematical application. You will help students to see God’s handiwork in all of creation (Ps. 19:1, Rom. 1:20).

General Responsibilities

  • Full-time teaching load- four (4) sections Upper School Physics; possibility may need to teach a fifth section and if so, will receive a stipend
  • Teach topics including, but not limited to:
    • Kinematics
    • Newton's Laws
    • 2D Motion
    • Uniform Circular Motion and Gravity
    • Work, Power and Energy
    • Waves and EMS
    • Electromagnetism and Electrostatics
  • Minister to students through quality instruction with a biblical foundation
  • Write lesson plans for all classes on a weekly basis and post assignments on school website as directed
  • Implement provided curriculum, collaborating with physics team members
  • Utilize a variety of activities and instructional methods to motivate and stimulate the student’s learning experience
  • Assess students’ performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills taught on a regular basis
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with parents
  • Attend/participate in Mini-School Night and other school events scheduled by Administration
  • Participate in professional development
  • Participate in scheduled department meetings
  • Fulfill any assigned supervisory duties
  • Prepare report cards on trimester schedule and post grades weekly
  • Maintain accurate records on each student
  • Discipline with love and enforce established conduct policy

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science education or subject area required; advanced degree preferred
  • Experience in teaching Upper School physics is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability in creating a classroom environment that fosters growth and learning
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal; able to effectively communicate with large and small groups of students, colleagues and parents
  • Strong critical thinking skills, ability to problem solve, quick learner and intentional relationship builder
  • Self-starter with a high level of initiative
  • Must be highly detailed, organized and structured in approach to executing duties
  • Must possess a unique sense for excellence in all areas
  • Fully in line with TCA's Christian values and Biblical Statements and Policies

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements

  • Normal physical demands of teaching (including, but not limited to standing, reaching, stooping, squatting down, kneeling, and occasional lifting)
  • Must be able to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials and input information into computer.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues, students and parents, answering questions in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Willing to partner with parents to provide an exceptional education academically, spiritually and socially; committed to educate and develop the whole person for the glory of God
