Part-Time School Nurse

Trinity Christian Academy is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable employee to join our education community who meets the following criteria:

Trinity Christian Academy is looking for a part-time nurse to assist in our onsite Clinic. This position has a work schedule of 7:30-3:00 Monday through Wednesday (off on Thursday and Friday).

General Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate care for ill and or injured students and employees, administer care based on the scope and standards of nursing practice in accordance with state guidelines
• Administer medication in accordance with physician standing orders
• Assess situations involving student’s health related issues
• Communication with parents regarding treatment and follow up as needed
• Demonstrate compassion, kindness and patience while interacting daily with students and staff (Col. 3:12)

Education, Experience and Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in nursing required
• Minimum three (3) years nursing experience required
• Valid license to practice as a nurse in Texas
• Must be in good standing with Texas Board of Nursing
• Current CPR Certification
• Experience with student health records & electronic medical records
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and effectively with others
• Experience in emergency, primary pediatric or school nursing a plus
• Physical assessment, emergency nursing, counseling and health teaching skills
• Have a willing heart for service (Ephesians 6:7)

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements

• Normal physical demands of nursing (including, but not limited to bending, standing, reaching overhead, stooping, squatting down, kneeling, climbing stairs and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds)
• Moving between buildings on campus
• Must be able to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials and input information into computer
• Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues, students and parents, answering questions in a professional and friendly manner
