Under the direct supervision of Colorado 811 Office Manager

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer inquiries and obtain information for general public, customers, visitors, and other interested parties
  • Provide information about the organization and activities conducted by Colorado 811 such as events, location of departments or offices, employees within organization and services provided
  • Operate telephone to answer, screen, and forward calls, providing information, taking messages and scheduling appointments
  • Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations
  • Hear and resolve complaints from customers and public
  • Transmit information, documents and packages/deliveries to staff and stakeholders using e-mail, mail, or fax machine
  • Analyze data to determine answers to questions from customers or members of the public
  • Order office supplies (including business cards, name tags, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, taking, and organizing messages, and other office procedures and terminology
  • Awareness of others reactions and understanding why they react as they do
  • Ability to provide full attention to what other people are saying, taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Actively looks for ways to help people
  • Manages ones own time and the time of others
  • Communicates effectively in verbal and written form including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
  • Understands written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents
  • Ability to react clearly in an emergency or stressful situation
  • Ability to lift & carry boxes up to thirty pounds for minimum of fifty feet
  • Ability to sit or stand while performing job duties for an entire shift with a minimum of unavailable time
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of two or more years of experience in:

  • Customer service
  • Clerical/Administrative Assistance

EDUCATION:

Minimum high school diploma or GED

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Full-Time in-person office environment
  • Follow current dress code policy with expectation of more business appropriate attire and self-presentation beyond basic guidelines

HOURS:

Monday- Friday 8am-5pm

COMPENSATION:

Starting Hourly Rate: $18.00

Annual Salary: $37,440 - $46,800

Hourly; non-exempt; annual cost of living increases, and bonuses based on both defined expectations and observed performance contingent upon approved annual operating budget
