Football Varsity Outside Linebacker Coach

• Has a passion for their areas of specialty, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with students and parents

We are looking for a dedicated coach and Christ follower to be the Football Varsity Outside Linebackers Coach. This position will start in May 2023. 

General Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a positive, proactive attitude that reflects Christian principles when interacting with student athletes- on and off of the field
• Cultivate the emotional health of the team with encouragement and positive reinforcement as the primary tool for motivation
• Assist in the development of TCA's youth football coaches through various camps, clinics and meetings
• Assist in preparation of a playbook outlining terminology, strategies and philosophy for the TCA football program
• Work with the Defensive Coordinator to develop game plan on the defensive team
• Assist with off-season football practice
• Attend all football practices and games
• Instruct student athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and training necessary for playing defense
• Coaching background with a 3-3-5 or 4-2-5 defense is preferred but not required

Qualifications

• A strong commitment to the positive development of the football program at TCA
• Ability to instill teamwork and community within a group of athletes pointing them to Christ
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience coaching high school boys in football
• Ability to build a good rapport with students and parents
• Played a college sport is preferred but not required
• Experience in coaching high school football is required
• Familiarity with TAPPS rules for football is preferred
• Available for spring football in May as well as summer workouts
• Fully in line with TCA's Christian values and statement of faith

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements

• Eye-hand, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, jump and run
• Normal physical demands of coaching
• Night and weekend hours required
