Trinity Christian Academy is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable employee to join our education community who meets the following criteria:

  • Has a desire to work in a private, independent, conservative, evangelical Christian college preparatory school
  • Understands, supports and carries out the mission, philosophy and core values of TCA and be committed to instilling these Biblical truths in the lives of our students
  • Is a born-again Christian with spiritual maturity in academic and leadership abilities that will enable them to teach God’s truth and be active in their local Christian church whose beliefs are in alignment with TCA’s Mission Statement and growing in their personal walk with Christ
  • Exhibits the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum, serving as a Christian role model (1 Timothy 4:12) both in and out of school (Luke 6:40)
  • Has a passion for their areas of specialty, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
  • Welcomes the opportunity to disciple and mentor students, helping develop godly character in their lives

Qualifications

Trinity Christian Academy is looking for a Dean of Upper School Students. The role of Dean of Upper School Students is to maintain a strong, biblically based student culture, as well as, to partner with Upper School faculty in their mission to educate students. This role is intended to ensure that our school maintains our focus on the mission of educating and developing the whole person for the glory of God while preparing our them for college and beyond.

General Responsibilities

  • Proven servant leadership demonstrated by an ability to collaborate, lead and contribute to:
    • Leading faculty, students, and parents to a deeper faith in Jesus Christ
    • Creating a culture of continual improvement
    • Establishing a culture of collegial collaboration
  • Implement and manage programs and procedures for the effective and efficient management of school life
  • Receives all discipline matters from teachers involving boys. Works in conjunction with the Assistant Head of Upper School, who handles the discipline matters involving girls
  • Confers with parents, teachers, counselors and students on matters of discipline and student welfare
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a student discipline system that results in positive student behavior and ensure that Upper School rules are uniformly observed, and student discipline is appropriate, equitable and consistent
  • Work closely with the Upper School administrative team to develop and enforce a biblical, positive, structured, engaging and united school culture
  • Supervise reporting and monitoring of student attendance; communicates with parents, students and teachers on student attendance
  • Conduct conferences on student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers
  • Maintain a visible presence in the Upper School and at TCA events
  • Assist with scheduling of Upper School faculty and staff duties
  • Participate in development and evaluation of educational programs for upper school students
  • Responsible for enforcement of TCA’s Code of Conduct with upper school students
  • Work with Head and Assistant Head of Upper School in providing guidance and assistance with a variety of student body activities
  • Participate in professional development activities
  • Make recommendations for appropriate revisions of and assists in the interpretation of programs, policies and procedures affecting students
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Upper School Head or Head of School

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Required advanced degree in educational leadership or administration (or related field) preferred
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Skill in working in collaborative team-based environments
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal; able to effectively communicate with large and small groups of students, teachers, or parents
  • Willing to partner with parents to provide an exceptional education academically, spiritually and socially; committed to educate and develop the whole person for the glory of God
  • Fully in line with TCA's Christian values and statement of faith

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements

  • Normal physical demands of teaching (including, but not limited to standing, reaching, stooping, squatting down, kneeling, and occasional lifting)
  • Must be able to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials and input information into a computer
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues, students and parents, answering questions in a professional and friendly manner
