As an Upper School Junior Bible Teacher you will encourage our students to deepen their faith in Jesus Christ, take personal ownership of their faith, and develop a Bible worldview. This is a full-time position.
General Responsibilities
- Proven servant leadership demonstrated by an ability to collaborate, lead and contribute to:
- Leading students to a deeper faith in Jesus Christ
- Creating a culture of continual improvement
- Translating best practices into practical classroom programs
- Establishing and maintaining a cooperative, collegial work environment which enhances communication, trust and productivity among faculty and school administrators with Christ as the center
- Full-time teaching load- four (4) sections Junior Bible
- Ability to minister to students through quality instruction with a biblical foundation
- Write lesson plans for all classes on a weekly basis
- Utilize a variety of activities and instructional methods to motivate and stimulate the student’s learning experience
- Assess students’ performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills taught on a regular basis
- Establish and maintain effective communication with parents
- Attend/participate in Mini-School Night and other school events scheduled by Administration
- Participate in professional development
- Participate in scheduled department meetings
- Fulfill any assigned supervisory duties
- Prepare report cards on trimester schedule and post grades weekly
- Maintain accurate records on each student
- Discipline with love and enforce established conduct policy
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Biblical Studies or related field; Master’s degree in Christian Education or Theology preferred
- Experience in teaching Upper School students preferred
- Demonstrated ability in creating a classroom environment that fosters growth and learning
- Ability to engage students winsomely and encourage them in personal Bible study
- Awareness of contemporary culture and ability to speak Biblically to it
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal; able to effectively communicate with large and small groups of students, colleagues and parents
- Strong critical thinking skills, ability to problem solve, quick learner and intentional relationship builder
- Self-starter with a high level of initiative
- Must be highly detailed, organized and structured in approach to executing duties
- Must possess a unique sense for excellence in all areas
- Fully in line with TCA's Christian values and statement of faith
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
- Normal physical demands of teaching (including, but not limited to standing, reaching, stooping, squatting down, kneeling, and occasional lifting)
- Must be able to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials and input information into computer.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues, students and parents, answering questions in a professional and friendly manner.
- Willing to partner with parents to provide an exceptional education academically, spiritually and socially; committed to educate and develop the whole person for the glory of God
