The Sports Information and Media Manager is responsible for communicating and coordinating athletic information to the greater audience at Trinity Christian Academy.

General Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all school communications regarding athletics including, weekly Trojan Charge newsletter, special athletic events such as Little Trojan Night, Senior Night, Middle School Night, etc. including creating materials, promotion of events and updating athletics page on TCA website
  • Plan weekly Trojan Charge content and collaborate with coaches to produce newsletter for the TCA community
  • Responsible for coordinating media days and team pictures for fall, winter and spring athletic teams
  • Oversee timing, production and installation of printed athletic banners for each varsity team sport to ensure they are produced, approved printed and installed in a timely manner
  • Oversee production of programs for varsity sports and fall sports book
  • Gather game and player information for designers to produce social media graphics
  • Approve daily social media graphics to promote athletic Game Day and score reporting
  • Coordinate graphics for each varsity team including team captains, post season honors, senior night etc. for video board at Tom Landry Stadium and the MCB gym
  • Coordinate with coaches on team social media accounts and provide support where needed
  • Oversee creation of digital and print materials for each team (including flyers, videos and social media graphics) to promote special athletic events such as Little Trojan Nights, Middle School Night, Senior Nights, etc.
  • Manage communications timeline for Athletic Department
  • Post teams to TCA website
  • Prepare post-game and season summaries for athletic teams,
  • Compose stories highlighting success within the Trojan Athletic department, including, but not limited to, weekly articles for the Trojan Charge and eWeekly, as well as local media outlets
  • Coordinate necessary communication including press releases for introducing new coaches, signing days and other special events
  • Manage and update the Athletic Department’s social media/twitter account and support individual team accounts
  • Work with graphic designer and/or templated program to create approved graphics to support Athletics social media content
  • Work with the Director of Marketing on all press inquiries and media relations for Trojan Athletics
  • Manage the design and ordering process of all athletic signage that is displayed throughout the school
  • Produce short game highlight videos for use on social media
  • Gather data, compile information, and prepare reports

Education, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years media relations and/or communications experience
  • Interest in athletics and understanding of multiple sports
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook)
  • Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (Adobe, MSWord, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
  • Must have excellent writing skills with the ability to compose and edit sports related articles and information
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines and people/coaches to accomplish strategic goals for the school
  • A high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy; the ability to provide customer service with grace is a must
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Must be able to discern among competing priorities
  • Video production and graphic design skills preferred
  • Experience working in an athletic department, preferably within the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools preferred

Position: Sports Information and Media Manager

Reports To: Director of Marketing and Communication
Start Date: Immediately
Hours: Full Time - 10 month (August – May)
Salary: Commensurate with experience
