The Middle School Dance Team Asst. Coach, must have a love for middle school students and dance. This individual must be willing to share his/her belief with the students on dance team.
Qualifications
- A strong commitment to the positive development of the dance team program at TCA
- Ability to instill teamwork and community within a group of girls pointing them to Christ
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with middle school girls in dance team
- Knowledge of the sport of dance team (terminology, execution of movement, showcase technique, etc.)
- Ability to build a good rapport with students and parents
General Responsibilities
- Attend dance team practices during the Fall and Winter seasons
- Assist Director in planning and organizing practices
- Assist Director in planning warm-up, conditioning drills for practice
- Assist Director in choreographing and teaching pep rally routines
- Assist Director in choosing and approving music for routines
- Attend all dance team performances
- Assist in documenting and planning weekly Biblical character lessons with Team Chaplain
- Attend all Middle School home football games
- Assist Director teaching dance team technique and dance routines
- Assist with fittings and ordering for all dance team uniforms
- Assist Director with dance team tryouts and parent meetings
- Attend Summer Dance team camp
- Assist with management of miscellaneous items
- Assist in organization and presentation of parent meetings
- Coordinate with Director to communicate with parents on a weekly basis (scheduling, updates etc.)
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
- Regularly works inside but some outdoor time might be required
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and pull items
- Ability to demonstrate dance moves and drills
- Early mornings and late nights required
