Summary
As the Overnight Manager on Duty at Hotel ZaZa, you are responsible for overseeing and directing all hotel functions during the overnight shift. This includes ensuring the safety, security, and smooth operation of all departments, while also fulfilling key responsibilities related to the Night Audit role. The Overnight Manager acts as the primary representative of hotel management during nighttime hours, ensuring excellence in guest service, safety protocols, and operational efficiency.
Essential Functions
- Supervise and provide leadership to all overnight staff, including Front Office, Engineering, and Housekeeping teams.
- Ensure adherence to all hotel safety and security protocols, responding promptly to any emergencies or hazards.
- Maintain the quality and consistency of guest services and hotel standards during the overnight shift.
- Address and report all maintenance issues, safety hazards, and property deficiencies.
- Support departmental functions in the absence of department heads, ensuring continuity of operations.
- Assist with guest requests, including delivery of amenities (e.g., room service orders, linens, toiletries).
- Monitor and enforce hotel rules, policies, and local laws to ensure a safe, respectful environment.
- Serve as the Manager on Duty, handling guest concerns, feedback, and incident resolution professionally and effectively.
- Communicate daily with the Director of Rooms and/or Director of Operations to report on overnight activities, incidents, and operational updates.
- Participate in management meetings, trainings, and hotel events as required.
- Train, support, and monitor Night Audit team members, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to hotel procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of Z-certification standards and ensure effective communication and training among team members.
- Complete all additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by senior leadership.

Working Environment
- Operates throughout the interior of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
- Occasional exposure to extreme indoor and outdoor temperatures and weather conditions
- May come into contact with various cleaning and maintenance chemicals
- Must be able to remain alert and responsive throughout overnight hours

Requirements
- Previous hotel or hospitality management experience preferred, especially in an overnight or supervisory role
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make critical decisions independently
- Familiarity with safety and emergency procedures
- Flexibility to work holidays, weekends, and overnight shifts as scheduled
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management systems (PMS) preferred
- Opera experience preferred but not required
