Summary: The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for proper receiving, storing and issuing of all food and beverage products. This person also receives goods, logs and delivers all incoming packages, manages the liquor and wine empty-bottle exchange program including counting, paper and spreadsheet documentation. S/he updates the daily invoice log and perpetual beverage receipts/ issues database. S/he also participates in each month-end inventory counting process
Essential Functions:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field.
- Progressive experience in a hotel or college related courses preferred.
- Ability to understand and utilize basic computer equipment and applications
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly and concisely.
- Must routinely meet deadlines.
- Must be able to multi task on a regular basis.
- Must be effective at identifying and solving problems as necessary.
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information including basic arithmetic functions and applications.
Essential Duties:
- Approach all encounters in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel ZaZa and Z-Resorts
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform, safety equipment and nametag when working.
- Comply at all times with all applicable Hotel ZaZa and Z-Resorts Management standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Input all pertinent inventory control information into the computer.
- Check all Purchase Orders (PO’s) received by the department to ensure it has been authorized, signed, price checked and assigned to an authorized vendor.
- Respond to vendors, guests and associates’ needs.
- Practice proper receiving procedures, verifying all goods received are invoiced correctly.
- Assist in month-end or quarterly inventories as required by supervisor.
- Receive, log and distribute guest packages.
- Keep area clean, neat and organized, at all times.
- Maintain required certifications as required by management and/or city, state and federal requirements. (ie. TABC)
