This opening is for our weekend coverage Friday - Monday 8am - 6pm.

What You’ll Be Doing (aka Your Code Quests)

  • Build & Debug: Develop, test, and fine-tune software solutions for automation and control systems.
  • Collaborate & Learn: Work with engineers, technicians, and fellow programmers to craft seamless solutions.
  • Innovate & Improve: Help us optimize existing systems, squash bugs, and create future-ready tech.
  • Document & Share: Keep clear records of your work to help the team (and your future self).
  • Deliver & Support: Assist in troubleshooting and support for our internal teams and customers.

The Programmer role plays a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing software solutions that power our cutting-edge automated laundry systems. Key Responsibilities:
All Levels

  • Develop, test, and maintain software applications and control systems that drive our automated laundry solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Service, Sales, IT and R&D to ensure software aligns with customer needs and company goals.
  • Proactively identify and resolve software bugs and performance bottlenecks.
  • Document and update programming processes to ensure system reliability and scalability.
  • Support the integration of new technologies into existing systems, continuously improving our solutions.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring minimal downtime for our customers.
  • Provide after-hours/on-call support to our onsite installation teams and service/support teams.

Programmer I (Entry-Level)

  • Execution & Independence:
    • Relies heavily on Level 2 and 3 programmers for problem-solving.
    • Can assist with commissioning but needs significant oversight.
    • Learns by shadowing senior programmers during commissioning.
  • Growth & Development:
    • Expected to improve troubleshooting skills.
    • Should aim to contribute to commissioning and write simple deciders with review.
    • Should work towards independent commissioning of standard projects.

Academic & Trade Qualifications (required & preferred):

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required. A bachelor's degree is preferred.

Work Experience & Skills (required & preferred):

All Levels

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in programming role required. Experience in a manufacturing environment or a similar industry preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and analytical abilities as well as an ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proactive approach to learning new technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Excellent ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Programmer I (Entry-Level)

  • Basic understanding of eVue, PLCs, and automation concepts.
  • Can follow pre-defined instructions but struggles with custom logic and troubleshooting.
  • Needs guidance to write custom deciders and configure IO lists.

 

Machinery & Technology Experience & Skills:

 

  • Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
  • Experience with industrial automation systems or Programmable Logic Controler (PLC) programming is a plus.
  • Familiarity with database systems, APIs, and version control tools (e.g., GitHub).

Physical Requirements:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to enter text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard or 10-Key.
  • Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (that is, working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech both in person, by telephone or other technology.
