You'll be the behind-the-scenes hero helping customers get their equipment back on track, whether it’s walking someone through a fix, answering tough questions with confidence, or collaborating with our awesome Field Service, Controls & Tech, and Parts teams.

  • Talk directly with customers (yes, real humans!) to troubleshoot issues and bring solutions to life.
  • Provide training and support that turns the confused into the confident.

  • Work closely with internal teams (Field Service, Controls & Tech, Parts – you name it!) to keep the magic moving.

Qualifications

Purpose of the Position:

The Inside Service Technician role combines technical expertise, exceptional customer service, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure seamless resolution of customer issues. This position interacts directly with customers to troubleshoot equipment, provide training, and manage service requests while collaborating with various internal departments, including the Field Service Team, Controls & Technology, Parts, and others.

Position will be based out of MN Office or TX Office depending on line of business being supported.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Support: Respond promptly to incoming phone calls and emails, delivering technical assistance with professionalism and care.
  • Remote Troubleshooting: Utilize remote diagnostic tools, phone communication and other communication channels to identify and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
  • Customer Training: Conduct training sessions to improve customer knowledge and system proficiency.
  • Service Ticket Management: Log, track, and resolve service tickets accurately, ensuring timely follow-up and closure.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the Field Service team, Controls & Technology, Parts, and other internal departments to resolve complex issues and deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Customer Relationships: Build and sustain meaningful relationships with customers, becoming a trusted partner in their operations.
  • Training Material Development: Develop and update training materials to enhance customer understanding of our systems.
  • On-Call Support: Provide on-call support during pre-scheduled after-hours, holidays and weekends to address urgent technical needs.
  • Continuous Improvement and Training: Actively participate in ongoing training programs to enhance skills. Identify areas for process improvement and suggest solutions to enhance efficiency and quality.

 

Academic & Trade Qualifications (required & preferred):

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in a technical field (2-year Technical Degree) preferred or equivalent experience.

 

Work Experience & Skills (required & preferred):

  • 3+ years of experience either in a Service, Installation, Technical Support (Hardware & Software) background required.
  • 3+ years of experience directly interacting with customers serving as a key resource for addressing customer needs, resolving issues, and providing expert guidance on company products or services.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced environment, ensuring timely responses and efficient handling of multiple priorities.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings, as well as electrical and pneumatic schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, capable of diagnosing and resolving common equipment, software, and/or networking issues.
  • Positive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Must maintain a clean criminal record and be able to pass background checks required for customer system access, ensuring compliance with company standards and customer requirements.

 

Machinery & Technology Experience & Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Experience with automation systems, including variable-speed drives, servo drives, sensors, PLCs (Programable Logic Controller), and related software and hardware, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting industrial control systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial hardware such as relays, motor drives, and terminal blocks.
  • Understanding of troubleshooting PLC operation.
  • Experience working within a service ticketing system. FreshDesk experience preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to enter text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard or 10-Key.
  • Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (that is, working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech both in person, by telephone or other technology.
