Purpose of the Position:
The Commissioner plays a crucial role in the successful launch of Kannegiesser ETECH’s advanced automated laundry systems, specifically focusing on commissioning our eVue Software’s integration as the central intelligence that synchronizes all hardware components, ensuring seamless communication between equipment and rail systems. In this role, Commissioners have their hands on all aspects of both the software, hardware and equipment integration masterfully orchestrating the movement of laundry throughout the facility, optimizing efficiency and automation. This role works closely with Programming, Controls, Installation Teams, Project Managers, and occasionally Project Engineers to ensure smooth system startups for our customers.

Commissioner Levels
- Level 1 (Entry-Level Commissioner): Developing foundational skills, requires supervision and guidance to complete tasks. Capable of troubleshooting minor issues and escalating complex problems to higher level commissioners. Collaborates with team members to complete assignments efficiently.
- Level 2 (Intermediate Commissioner): Demonstrates an intermediate understanding of eVue and troubleshooting. Can follow instructions and apply them to tasks but may require assistance with advanced troubleshooting of programming, wiring, and controls.
- Level 3 (Advanced Commissioner): Highly competent in eVue troubleshooting and possesses advanced troubleshooting skills in wiring and system optimization. Has extensive knowledge of eVue and its communication with all hardware components. Can proactively seek out issues and articulate print updates to the controls team and provide deep insights into laundry optimization for efficient throughput.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Commissioning: Oversee the commissioning of eVue Software, ensuring seamless integration with both equipment and rail systems.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the Programming and Controls teams to optimize system performance, and coordinate with Installation Teams, Project Managers, and Engineers to ensure efficient setup and operation.
- Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough system testing, diagnose potential issues, and implement solutions to maximize system functionality and customer satisfaction.
- Customer Support & Training: Provide training and guidance to customers, ensuring they can effectively operate and maintain their automated laundry systems.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and resolutions to enhance future installations and support.
- Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback to internal teams for ongoing product and process improvements.
Academic & Trade Qualifications (required & preferred):
- High school or GED. Two-year Technical Degree or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to become certified in the following areas: OSHA 30 Construction, Forklift, and Scissors Lift.
Work Experience & Skills (required & preferred):
- Experience in troubleshooting mechanical systems, including field service, maintenance, or equipment repair. Experience in commissioning, software integration, automation, or controls-related fields is a plus, but not required.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and analytical abilities as well as an ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Build and maintain strong, professional customer relationships by understanding their needs, providing timely solutions, and fostering a respectful rapport with empathy to ensure their needs are met.
- Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and other involved parties.
- Excellent ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non technical audiences.
- Skilled in troubleshooting common equipment issues across electrical, pneumatic, steam, and hydraulic circuits.
- Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols, actively identifying potential hazards, and promoting a culture of safety among team members.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record ensuring the ability to travel between job sites safely and efficiently both domestically and internationally.
- For all new hires as of 9/1/2024, must be based within 1-hour drive from US international airport
Machinery & Technology Experience & Skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.).
- SAP familiarity (preferred but not required).
- Must be able to read mechanical assembly drawings, electrical, and pneumatic schematics.
- Experience using a voltmeter gauges and network diagnostic tools to review and validate circuit amperage, voltage, and signal levels.
- Experience with basic hand tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, raise, lower, push or carry up to 50 lbs. from ground to waist, waist to overhead and from one surface to another at mid level.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting or standing for prolonged periods.
- Ability to ascend or descend structures like ladders, scaffolding, ropes or poles that require the use of both upper and lower body to climb up to 25 feet tall.
- Ability to work on equipment that is over individuals head and shoulders/at or below the shoulders while standing/sitting.
- Ability to walk/navigate/stand on both even and uneven surfaces.
- Physical dexterity to manipulate small parts including ability to grasp and pinch small objects.
- Ability to enter text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard or 10-Key.
- Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (that is, working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers.
- Clarity of depth perception both less than 20 inches and more than 20 inches.
- Ability to accurately determine color and distinguish between colors.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech both in person, by telephone or other technology.
