Description

OVERVIEW:   

The Image Editor will use Adobe Photoshop to create and edit TV and Movie program artwork, program logos, and other related images for use in Red Bee Media outlets. This position requires each editor to follow all rules and guidelines set forth by the Red Bee Media Content Department concerning image creation and alteration. The Image Editor must possess strong analytical and internet research skills, as well as handle multiple assignments at any given time.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following responsibilities will be fulfilled under the direction of the Head of Media: 

  • Use Adobe Photoshop and Image Production Guidelines to create/alter program artwork, program logos, movie posters, movie/program stills, and other related media content based on the current needs of Red Bee Media. 
  • Use Red Bee Media Content guidelines to accurately label and save all created/edited images to the appropriate media storage locations. 
  • Maintain a daily log of all assigned and created/edited images to be reported directly to the appropriate individuals at the end of each business day for daily/weekly tracking purposes. 
  • Research program and movie titles for relative program information and image content using approved sources. 
  • Handle any projects designed to enhance the Media Content image database for specific Red Bee Media clients’ needs, as well as, maintain documents and reports, directives, and assignments. 
  • Potential other duties: 
  • Download assigned pre-approved station and/or program images. 
  • Process documentation. 
  • Crop images to fit into pre-approved Red Bee Media sizing standards. 
  • Alter existing program artwork for programs that have undergone a title change. 

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS:

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop with basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator 
  • Excellent understanding of graphic design principles, layout, color theory and typography 
  • Education above the high school level, preferably an Associate’s degree or higher, with course concentration in a related field, such as: graphic design, digital media/imaging or visual/design communications (relative job experience acceptable) 
  • Must be willing to take direction and criticism from superiors to provide the best images possible 
  • Ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment and make sound recommendations when necessary 
  • Strong research, analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills 
  • Effective planning, time management, and organizational skill 
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member on projects or issues working closely with internal and external parties 
  • High attention to detail 
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Outlook, and Excel 
  • Excellent oral and written communications abilities 
  • Self-motivated and willing to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to meet quotas and deadlines
