Varsity Football Assistant Coach

We are looking for a dedicated coach and Christ follower to be a Varsity Football Assistant Coach for the 2025-2026 school year. TCA’s Athletic Department utilizes sports and competition to teach transformational, life-giving biblical truths to each student-athlete. As a coach at TCA you will not only help student athletes improve their athletic ability, you will remind them of the importance of academics, instill a Christian work ethic (Col. 3:23) and help strengthen their faith in Christ.

General Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a positive, proactive attitude that reflects Christian principles when interacting with student athletes - on and off the field
• Cultivate the emotional health of the team with encouragement and positive reinforcement as the primary tool for motivation
• Assist in the development of TCA's youth football coaches through various camps, clinics and meetings
• Assist in preparation of a playbook outlining terminology, strategies and philosophy for the TCA football program
• Assist with pre-season, in-season and spring football practice
• Attend all football practices and games
• Instruct student athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and training necessary for being an offensive receiver

Qualifications

• A strong commitment to the positive development of the football program at TCA
• Ability to instill teamwork and community within a group of athletes pointing them to Christ
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience coaching high school boys in football
• Ability to build a good rapport with students and parents
• Played a college sport is preferred but not required
• Experience in coaching high school football is required
• Familiarity with TAPPS rules for football is preferred
• Available for spring football in April and May
• Fully in line with TCA’s Christian values and Biblical Statements and Policies

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements

• Eye-hand, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, jump and run
• Normal physical demands of coaching
• Night and weekend hours required
