  • Has a passion for their areas of specialty, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with students and parents

Qualifications

We are looking for a dedicated coach and Christ follower to be the Middle School Tennis Assistant Coach for the 2025-2026 school year. TCA’s Athletic Department utilizes sports and competition to teach transformational, life-giving biblical truths to each student-athlete. As an assistant coach you will not only help student athletes improve their football skills, you will remind them of the importance of academics, instill a Christian work ethic (Col. 3:23) and help strengthen their faith in Christ. This position will be from February 2, 2026 - April 10, 2026.

General Responsibilities

  • Plan warm-up, conditioning and tennis drills for practice
  • Document and help plan weekly Biblical character lessons (Mark 12:30)
  • Instruct skills necessary for playing tennis at a MS competitive level
  • Attend all MS tennis matches and practices
  • When necessary, assist with tennis tryouts for Middle School tennis teams
  • Manage miscellaneous items
  • Ability to motivate and improve performance of athletes

Qualifications

  • A strong commitment to the positive development of the tennis program at TCA
  • Ability to instill teamwork and community within a group of athletes pointing them to Christ
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with middle school athletes in tennis
  • Knowledge of the sport of tennis
  • Ability to build a good rapport with student and parents
  • Fully in line with TCA's Christian values and Biblical Statements and Policies

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements

  • Eye-hand, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, jump and run
  • Normal physical demands of coaching
  • Night hours required
