We are seeking a dedicated, Christ-centered educator to serve as a long-term substitute teacher for our Early Childhood STEM program, working with Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 1st grade students. Our Lower School is a place where students are encouraged to explore, play, build friendships, and develop a lifelong love for learning. Our engaging curriculum, dynamic STEM experiences, and spacious classrooms support hands-on discovery and curiosity-driven instruction. The dates for this position are August 11-October 29 (Mondays-Thursdays).Â
General Responsibilities
- Full-time teaching loadÂ
- Ability to build a good report with students
- Work cohesively and collaborate with other members of the Lower School faculty and staff
- Utilize a variety of activities and instructional methods to motivate and stimulate the student's learning experience
- Assess student's performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills taught on a regular basis
- Demonstrate a love for students and a desire to personally invest in their spiritual, emotional and social development
- Incorporate Biblical principles and character traits into daily curriculum
- Demonstrate the fruits of the spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) in daily work, and interactions with students and colleagues
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field
- Experience in teaching lower school is required
- Experience in teaching STEM to Lower School students is strongly preferred
- Create a classroom environment that fosters growth and learning
- Fully in line with TCA's Christian values and Biblical Statements and Policies
- Have a willing heart for service (Ephesians 6:7)
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
- Normal physical demands of teaching (including, but not limited to, standing, reaching, stooping, squatting down, kneeling, and occasional lifting)
- Must be able to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials and input information into a computer
- Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues, students and parents, answering questions in a professional and friendly manner
- Strong communication skills required
