Trinity Christian Academy is looking for a dedicated teacher and Christ follower to teach History/English to our 8th Grade students. Through literature and history, students grow in understanding of the world and themselves as they learn the power of voice and value of courage. As an 8th Grade History/English Teacher you will integrate literature and writing with the historical time period from the Reconstruction through modern times by emphasizing the course theme: "a single voice can change the world." This position is for the 2025-26 school year.
General Responsibilities
- Full-time teaching load
- Responsible to teach History and English (including grammar, writing, reading skills, etc.)
- Provide Biblical references, context, and integration for applicable subject matter
- Demonstrate Christian values and principals through interactions with students, parents and colleagues
- Post, grade and record all applicable assignments and assessments in a timely manner
- Work collaboratively with other members of the TCA staff
- Build, and maintain, a good rapport with students, parents, and colleagues
- Demonstrate the fruits of the spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) in daily work, and interactions with colleagues and others
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English and/or History, with a minimum of 12 credit hours in each subject area
- 7th-12th grade English certification is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability in creating a classroom environment that fosters growth and learning
- Experience in teaching Middle School students is strongly preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills with regard to Middle School students, their parents and colleagues
- Have a willing heart for service (Ephesians 6:7)
- Agree with and support TCA’s Doctrinal, Biblical and Mission statements and Christian values
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
- Normal physical demands of teaching (including, but not limited to, standing, reaching, stooping, squatting down, kneeling, and occasional lifting)
- Must be able to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials and input information into a computer
- Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues, students and parents, answering questions in a professional and friendly manner
- Strong communication skills required
