We are looking for a dedicated teacher and Christ follower to teach Bible to our Middle School students. TCA's Middle School helps students realize who they are as children of God and how to weave together His gifts with their knowledge to impact this world. The 7th grade curriculum is a survey of the Old Testament, and the 8th grade curriculum is a survey of the New Testament. The objective is to teach the "big story" of Scripture, including Creation, Fall, and Redemption, and encouraging students to study the Bible inductively and apply their beliefs to their lives. This position is for the 2025-26 school year.
General Responsibilities
- Full-time teaching loadÂ
- Ability to minister to students through quality instruction with a biblical foundation
- Write lesson plans for all classes on a weekly basis
- Teach academics along with personal, social and emotional skills
- Utilize a variety of activities and instructional methods to motivate and stimulate the student's learning experience
- Assess students' performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills taught on a regular basis
- Ability to collaborate with a teaching team
- Establish and maintain communication with parents
- Attend/participate in Mini-School Night and other school events scheduled by administration
- Participate in professional development to stay current in your field
- Participate in scheduled department meetings
- Fulfill any assigned supervisory duties
- Prepare report cards on trimester schedule and post grades weekly
- Maintain accurate records on each student
- Discipline with love and enforce established conduct policy
- Work collaboratively with other members of the TCA staff
- Build, and maintain, a good rapport with students, parents, and colleagues
- Demonstrate the fruits of the spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) in daily work, and interactions with colleagues and others
Required Education, Experience and QualificationsÂ
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Biblical Studies or related field; Master's degree in Christian Education or Theology strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability in creating a classroom environment that fosters growth and learning
- Excellent interpersonal skills with regard to Middle School students, their parents, and colleagues
- Experience in teaching Middle School students is strongly preferred
- Have a willing heart for service (Ephesians 6:7)
- Agree with and support TCA’s Doctrinal, Biblical and Mission statements and Christian values
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
- Normal physical demands of teaching (including, but not limited to, standing, reaching, stooping, squatting down, kneeling, and occasional lifting)
- Must be able to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials and input information into a computer
- Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues, students and parents, answering questions in a professional and friendly manner
- Strong communication skills required
