Summary:

The position is responsible for the day to day functions of the web presence, ensuring timely, relevant and accurate content at all times.  The role is responsible for providing support to on-line campaigns, e-communications and providing a pro-active point of contact with internal and external parties for strategies relating to our websites.  Also responsible for supervising and training transaction processors.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Trains and supervises transaction processors.  Providing input to manager on progress, issues, and goals for performance reviews.
     
  • Provides input on potential interviewees
     
  • Create, develop, and manage content for the organization’s web presence (requires working with content management software, including WordPress). Understand and track web analytics and short URL services.
     
  • Coordinate web projects and web product offers across departments, ensuring alignment with marketing strategies and database requirements. Ability to understand project and appeal coding used for internal tracking and reporting.
     
  • Create and edit content using standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

 

  • Copyedit and proofread all web and social media content.
     
  • Provides initial contact for all web-related customer service issues, communicating with donors via email and/or verbally as directed.
     
  • Interact with developers on design, implementation, and presentation layers.

 

  • Understanding of data collection process & procedures.

 

  • Involved in website documentation from a system and user perspective.  Verifies user documentation by stepping through the process and giving feedback as to the results.

 

  • Assist in development and proofing of email campaigns.  Manage subscription lists.

 

  • Assist in daily workflow and database transactions from the website as needed.

 

  • Create daily, weekly, monthly report(s) and distribution to recipients.

 

  • Create and coordinate testing procedures and timelines for website and/or database updates or changes.  Interfaces with other departments and guides the testing process from the user perspective.

 

  • Must be able to train in all aspects of departmental functions and serve as a backup to the Web Technology Manager if needed.

 

Qualifications

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

           

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Two or more years of technical experience and two or more years of intermediate to advanced desktop computer office automation software tools or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in using spreadsheets, word processing, application interfaces, web publishing software, general office information control management, and graphic design software.

 

  • Proficient with Desktop Publishing and technical knowledge of photo manipulation, file preparation for print, and conversion for the Web.

 

  • Knowledge and understanding of current web design practices and social media platforms.
     
  • College degree preferred

 

 

Communication/Interpersonal Skills:

 

Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical manuals and procedures.  Ability to organize and clearly present ideas.  Ability to meet deadlines and goals in a team oriented environment.  Ability to interact with peers, other personnel, technical contacts and general public in a professional manner.  Must be able to present viewpoint in a direct yet respectful way.  Highly creative and motivated.
