Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Bus Driver will provide transportation of members from assigned neighborhood schools to the Boys & Girls Club on a daily basis. The Bus Driver will also provide transportation to and from special events as required during summer as well as local community pick-ups as scheduled.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)
Leadership
1. The Bus Driver is responsible for maintaining discipline on each bus run and notifying the Branch Director immediately if problems occur with members.
2. Must maintain a valid Driver’s License that is acceptable to Organization Insurance.
3. Must be courteous and exercise professional behavior at all times.
4. Operate with Safety being the first priority.
5. Report all incidents or issues to Director immediately
6. Maintain proper safety equipment on vehicle

Strategic Planning
1. The Bus Driver is responsible for keeping daily attendance records of members riding the bus.
2. The Bus Driver must drive daily routes to assigned schools.
3. Must utilize check off sheet daily as youth board
4. Must record mileage daily on log
5. Must perform vehicle youth check to ensure that no youth are left on board prior to parking bus/van

Resource Management
1. The Bus Driver must check the vehicle daily for safety.
2. The Bus Driver must notify the Club Director when maintenance is needed such
as oil changes and yearly inspections.
3. Must use Branch daily inspection log to perform inspections

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
4. The Bus driver position requires a valid Drivers License from the State of Texas.
5. The Bus Driver’s record must enable the Boys & Girls Club to provide coverage
for them with their insurance agent.

RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff, Club members, and supervisor to
receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions.
External: Maintain contact as needed with schools, members and community in order to
assist in resolving problems or issues regarding the Boys & Girls Club.

Qualifications

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: 

Texas State Driver’s License
• CDL preferred
• Two years' experience preferred
• Knowledgeable of youth services.
