Position Summary: Acts as an assistant or head coach for a sports team and assists the Athletic Program Director in carrying out assigned responsibilities. Provides activity supervision, training and coaching to student athletes as assigned. Actively works to ensure the fulfillment of team, department and school goals within their sport.
Position Objective: Primary goal is to teach and promote the glorification of God through the pursuit of excellence in athletics. Additionally, charged to use leadership, supervisory and teaching skills to promote the development of the individual program and all student-athletes

Head Coach
- Ensure implementation and maintenance of standards and procedures as outlined in the CDA Coaching Manual and Athletic Culture Guide
- Procure game officials, facilities, AV equipment, and necessary seasonal equipment
- Provide professional development to reporting coaches that will foster moral values, strong work ethic, responsibility, teamwork, sportsmanship, self-discipline, leadership, and self-confidence
- Maintain discipline and work to increase morale and cooperation within the school athletic program and school community
- Instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success
- Provide instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, strong work ethic, responsibility, teamwork, sportsmanship, self-discipline, leadership, and self-confidence
- Maintain discipline and works to increase morale and cooperation within the school athletic program and school community
- Supervise practices, games, and team trips
- Update knowledge of technical aspects of the assigned sport and willingness to continue to learn and examine new ideas pertinent to the assigned sport or coaching in general
- Schedule all home and away games, tournaments, and overarching practice time slots
- Demonstrate commitment to personal professional development regarding technical aspects of the assigned sport
- Ensure the maintenance of uniform/equipment inventories
- Collaborate with Campus Athletic Director and pertinent faculty/staff to accomplish assigned tasks
- Encourage and support athletic policies with parents and players to address issues or concerns
- Update Campus Athletic Director frequently during season about any issues, concerns, or highlights
Assistant Coach
- Assists in implementing athletic objectives
- Assumes responsibility for constant care of equipment and facilities
- Assumes supervisory control over athletes and teams assigned
- Be in regular attendance at all contests and practice sessions
- Instills discipline, work ethic, respect and perseverance in athletes
- Applies discipline in a firm but positive manner
- Emphasizes safety; is aware of best training procedures and injury preventative actions
- Conducts self and teams in an ethical manner during contests and practice
- Instructs players in rules of the game, rule changes, new developments, and innovative ideas
