Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED completion is required. Professional Coding Certification with American Academy of Professional Coders AAPC: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is a plus.
Experience: Minimum one (1) year of infusion experience required. Prior infusion billing coding experience is required.
Requirements for Level I Status:
- Entry level (1-4 years experience) and/or meet the basic requirements of the job with the need for additional supervision.
- Excess of 4 years experience if meeting only the basic requirements of the job with need for additional supervision.
Performance Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills are required.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office experience, particularly in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Prior infusion billing / coding experience.
- Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and decision-making skills.
- Good understanding of healthcare plans.
- Ability to read and understand third party billing, claim submission, and EDI requirements.
- Ability to gather, review, and interpret clinical data.
- Bilingual is a plus.
- Good working knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD 10, and anatomy.
- Self-motivated with initiative.
- Strong sense of ethics.
